Dolphin Show, Singapore

Dolphin Lagoon show is a must see for anyone visiting Sentosa Island in Singapore, the first of its kind in Asia. It is a unique chance to experience these highly intelligent Humpback Dolphins brought in from Thailand. The skin color of these dolphins becomes pink as they mature. Dolphin Lagoon is located adjacent to Palawan Beach. This pool has about 30 million liters of filtered sea water and the cost to built it was 3 million Singapore dollars. There are a total of 6 dolphins which live in a 4.5 meter tank to resemble their natural habitat. There are hundreds of chairs under the covered shades, placed around the pool where the visitors come and watch the dolphin show.

Once the show starts you will be amazed to see the stunts of these trained dolphins. The dolphins perform various acts like tail-flapping, the spy-hop, jumping out of water, carrying balls, catching a fish, jumping through the rings, multiple dolphins perform synchronous acts and their vocalizations. The trainer will also invite a visitor who goes inside the water where the dolphin comes and kisses him/her. Another famous act is 'Dolphin Drag'. Some guests will also get a chance to touch these creatures. Complementary photographs are taken with these pink dolphins for those two lucky visitors, others will have to pay. If you feel thirsty during the show grab a chilled Cooler at the Sky Bar.

Tip of the day
Tip #10. Drink bottled water. All water contains different sets of microbes and mineral deposits, just that your body is used to some and not to others. So water which is safe to the locals may not always be safe for you. If you cannot find bottled water, then at least try to thoroughly boil it and let it cool before drinking.
