Kings Canyon National Park is located in the southern Sierra Nevada mountain range just north of Sequoia National Park, or East of Fresno city in California, South of Yosemite. The park is home to massive mountains, several lakes, pools, gigantic trees, deep canyons, meadows and waterfalls. Kings Canyon National Park offers several scenic wonders, including some of the largest trees in the world and one of the deepest canyons in the U.S. (maximum depth of about 8,200 feet). The park covers an area of about 463 thousand acres. The smaller section of the park is called General Grant Grove which consists of many giant sequoia's including the General Grant Tree, the Redwood Mountain Grove and more. This portion of the park is well connected with paved roads connecting to freeways. The Best time to come here is in summers. Due to drastic high and low elevations within the park, you can find a variety of climate conditions here. There are no gas stations within the park boundaries so be sure to fill up before you enter the premises of the park and the cell phone reception is also poor.
